Sweetie Alpine (watch my video) was rescued from a distant shelter along with 3 other pups on 6/2/22. He is friendly, cuddly, active and playful. Alpine loved playing with the other pups at his foster home and in yard. Alpine is smart and super well trained. Update from his foster home: Alpine is a sweet and active boy. He always gets compliments on how well behaved and handsome he is wherever he goes! Alpine would love to go to an active forever home and one that would give him different and fun outlets for his energy and smarts! Training : Alpine knows basic obedience such as leash manners, impulse control around doors and food, sit, down, stay, heel, place, and recall. He also knows a few cute tricks and his foster home has started doing AKC scent work with him, he loves to use his nose!
Drive Level: Alpine is a medium driven dog. He loves to engage with his handler for food or toys and loves learning new things, but he is not over the top. Perfect for someone wanting to train a dog and maybe try some dog sports like dock diving, flyball, or agility!
Activity Level: Alpine is a high energy dog. He requires multiple hours of running and playing daily to keep him happy and fit!
Crate Trained: Alpine is crate trained. He eats, sleeps and naps in his crate without complaint. As long as he is getting his physical and mental fulfillment, Alpine is very content in his crate.
Grooming: Alpine has been desensitized to grooming and behaves very well for baths, blow dryers, brushing, nail trimmings and teeth and ear cleanings. Alpine is a medium shedder. His foster home brushes him twice a week and bathes him every other week.
Other Dogs: Alpine is dog friendly. He is a very outgoing and energetic dog and is better matched with other dogs of his size and nature who won't mind his "in your face" energy. No cats.
General Behavior: In public, Alpine is neutral to his surroundings. He has not shown any signs of reactivity or aggression. He does not resource guard food or toys. Because of his breed makeup, Alpine likes to alert his handlers to people walking up to the house or yard by barking, and is easily recalled when his handler is made aware. If Alpine is not exercised and mentally stimulated enough daily, he will become bored and destructive and mouthy. It's important that he goes to a forever home that will be able to keep up with his high energy and life long training.
