Jenna D6738

Jenna D6738

Jenna was nervous at the shelter, but warmed up once she felt safe. She was badly neglected, matted, covered in dirt and starved (skin & bones). She had a huge mat covering over her eyes. Shelter was able to shave off the mat and now she can see! Jenna is friendly but anxious. Wants attention and unsure of her new world. Jenna had her vet care and bath. Now relaxing at her temporary foster home. At her temp foster home, within hours, she is now happy and running around a lot. Jenna will be groomed soon. Jenna needs healthy food, home training and lots of TLC. More info. to come as she gets healthy and learns.

Jenna needs a home with backyard access and taken out to yard often.

9/18/18 Update: Jenna is joyous in spirit and behavior. She is curious, energetic, intelligent and sometimes mischievous. She happily goes into her crate for meals, sleep and sometimes because she feels like a rest in her private place.  She is likely a dog who would be great at tricks, agility and good citizen training. She is very food motivated, which makes training her easy.  No issues with food or toy guarding or aggression. She is shy around dogs she doesn’t know, but warms up to them after a day or so. She loves vigorous play with dogs her size, humans and by herself, if no one else is in the mood.  She will push a ball into a roll and then chase it. She loves to go for walks and when taken to a restaurant sits happily at your feet for hours. She has bonded with her foster mom and likes to be with her as much as possible.  She would be happiest in a home where she has a lot of attention and play and another dog her size to play with.  She is surprisingly gentle when meeting children, even toddlers, but when she is playing she gets excited and can be mouthy, not biting, just grasping at things. Jenna still has much to learn, but is eager to please. She uses the dog door consistently for potty breaks, as long as she has access, but we are still working on a way for her to request to go out.  When taken outside, she will go potty on command, if she has to, even if it’s just a tiny bit to please you.
