Austin D5061

Austin D5061

Austin was very neglected. We rescued him from a Alameda county shelter. He is very dog friendly, lovable, gentle and sweet with everyone! Poor Austin was emaciated, needed severe dental (almost no teeth) with many extractions, has ear infections, hot spots, skinny and arthritic back legs joints. He is on low thyroid medication and iron rich foods. With vet care, healthy food and supplements, he will get healthier and live a golden loving life! He is a medium size dog and beautiful. His senior blood panel was fine. He is relaxing at his foster home and will get his severe dental/extractions, ear cleaning and neuter soon. He is very sweet and listens well. Beautiful boy! 6/14/14 Update: Austin is now healthier after about 2 weeks of home care, meds, healthy food, supplements and love. He is so happy socializing and meeting dogs & pups at showcase on sat. Austin loves Honest Kitchen mix (Zeal/Beef/probiotic/enzyme - with very little teeth, he has to eat soft food). But we see a huge difference in him. His energy is definitely up now. Austin had his dental on 6/17/14. Poor Austin had 27 decayed teeth extracted. Cost of all vet care: $3,000+. Donations appreciated. He now feels happy and pain free! He runs and zooms around like a puppy!

Austin does have low iron, so he needs Iron rich foods. http://www.vetinfo.com/canine-anemia.html Update: 4/2015 Austin has slowed down and doesn't want to go on walks anymore. He has some joint pain and on joint supplements.

Austin is now a Sanctuary Dog.
