Guardian

Our Guardian Assist program is provided to help you find and place
your
beloved dog or cat into a new forever home, utilizing the Furry Friends Rescue
and 1-800-save-a-pet.com websites (LOTS of traffic to these websites),
advertising and adoption showcases.
Your animal needs to be social (people
friendly), should be animal friendly
and can be handled / petted. If you would like our assistance in this program,
please call us at (510) 794-4703 or email us at: info@furryfriendsrescue.org.
If you're willing to participate in this program, you must:

showcase unless a FFR volunteer contacts you to ensure that we have
cage/floor space available and you have all medical records.

For cats we require proof of Combo Test, all shots and spay/neuter.

and a report
of all his/her medical history. We will place the photo and description
on our website in the Guardian Assist section.

home. Home visits are preferred.

Cats and Kittens
Thinking about giving up your cat or kittens? Please read this
handout (PDF format) from our Guardian Assistance counselors.
For cats we require proof of Combo Test (negative), all vaccinations, must be healthy, on flea control product and spay/neutered. Your cat must live indoor fully to prevent spread (cross contamination) of contagious diseases, parasites & virus (distemper, HIV, FIP, Leuk, ringworm) to our home fostered indoor cat/kittens at cat adoption showcases. Virus can live on hard surface and fabric for weeks. In your home for 1 year. |
|
Furry Friends Rescue will:
- Post your animal on our Guardian Assist webpage
which receives lots of traffic.
- Guide or refer you to vets and no cost spay/neuter clinics. All animals
must be
vet examed, tested, vaccinated and spay/neuter prior to adoption.
- Showcase the animal at one of our adoption showcases. For dogs we
require that you be present at the showcase to help screen potential
adoptors and to answer questions. For cats, your presence at a showcase
is not necessary.
